Habakkuk 2:2-5 “The Foundation of Faith”

Mar 20, 2022    Dr. Jay Jones

In Habakkuk 2:2–5, God gives the prophet the heart of the entire book: “The righteous shall live by his faith.” Instead of explaining every mystery, God anchors Habakkuk’s hope in His Word. He commands the vision to be written down plainly so that future generations will know His promises and trust His timing. Here we see the foundation of saving faith—God’s written, clear, trustworthy, Christ-centered revelation. In contrast to the proud whose restless greed can never be satisfied, the righteous live by humbly trusting God at His Word. This passage calls us to daily faith—taking God at His promises even when the world is unstable and His purposes are not yet clear.
